I have a great deal of experience counseling college students, including test taking skills, test anxiety and how to write essays effectively. For the last 5 years I have worked in a college academic resource center. Not only do I assist students in the areas mentioned above, I am also an English/Writing Specialist. My students always comment on how kind, patient and understanding I am, and that they feel much more confident and reassured at the end of each tutoring session. They even tell other students to make tutoring appointments with me.

I have permanent NY State Certification, and a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education, Special Education and Reading. In addition, I have over 30 years experience teaching and tutoring Special Needs children, including those with ADD/ADHD. Their parents and caregivers always comment on my infinite patience and ability to help their children overcome the many challenges they face in the classroom, so that they might excel.


Aspergers

I have a Master of Science degree in Special Education and 30 + years working with children who have Aspergers. My experience includes being the Head Teacher of an Early Intervention children, which involved helping to identify such children. I also helped them to acclimate to a classroom setting,to learn to accept others and react more appropriately with peers, adults and the world around them. I have a lot of patience, something which their parents and caregivers always commented on.

I have worked in 2 academic resource centers, and one of my areas of expertise is to help students to improve their ability to answer multiple choice questions, mainly in Reading, Writing and Global History. In addition, I help them overcome any test anxiety issues that they might have to overcome.
